Service History
D3401 was first allocated new to Cardiff East Dock (88B) but like many other shunting engines, she was moved
around to the following depots and areas:

Following on from her allocated sheds she spent several years in various locations including on hire or under the ownership of Cemex, Washwood Heath, Birmingham and Channel Tunnel, Cheriton, Wabtec Doncaster.
Preservation
In 2011 the Trust acquired Class 08, 08331 thanks to our friends in the 9F group who kindly donated her to the Trust and since that date it has been the West Shed yard shunter.
The Trust has recently overhauled the engine and is currently being repainted in its as built colours BR Green and numbered D3401.
