After 6233 Duchess of Sutherland replaces the diesel traction at York, passengers will enjoy some high speed running up the East Coast Main to Low Fell where a water stop is made. Proceeding through the beautiful Tyne Valley to Carlisle where a one and a half hour stay allows the locomotive to be turned and serviced. The return journey is via the world famous Settle & Carlisle line where further water stops are made at Appleby and at Hellifield where 6233 gives way to a diesel locomotive for the remainder of the journey home via Leeds.

6233 Duchess of Sutherland replaces the diesel traction at Carlisle. The train then has some high speed running up the West Coast Main Line through the Borders and climbs Beattock bank before taking water at Abington. This is followed by a run round the outskirts of Glasgow and onto the final destination of Stirling, where lunch may be enjoyed in one of the many establishments close to the station. After two and a half hours in Stirling, allowing the locomotive to be turned and serviced, the return journey retraces the route including water stops at Carstairs and Lockerbie with the express steam locomotive working as
far as Carnforth and where she gives way to a diesel locomotive for the remainder of the journey home.

THE LONDON EXPLORER

6233 Duchess of Sutherland replaces diesel traction at Derby, the train then picks up at Nottingham and Grantham. A high speed run on the East Coast Mainline then takes the train through Peterborough to Connington Loop where a water stop is made. A further high speed run into London, where a six hour break allows ample time for shopping or visiting some of the many tourist attractions. The return takes the same route with the steam locomotive working all the way to Derby, where diesel haulage takes over for the remainder of the journey. A great nostalgic day out for those who remember days out by train and being hauled by an express steam locomotive for a day in the Capital city.

Every effort is made to ensure that the locomotive, rolling stock, route and timings will run as advertised, but the organisers reserve the right to alter these at any time and shall not incur any liability to any person who has bought or contracted to buy a ticket, or tickets, as a result of any such change. On the day of the train, all reasonable efforts, within the control of the Organisers, will be made to ensure that the trains run as planned, but they cannot accept any responsibility for delays, mishaps, alterations or curtailment of the tour from situations outside their control.

The Organisers cannot accept any responsibility for the options under the control of third parties and are only responsible to return passengers to their joining stations. Your booking is taken as constituting acceptance of these conditions.

Other than due to cancellation by the Organisers, no refund is available once a booking has been confirmed; the Organisers also reserve the right to charge an administration fee of £5.00 for any alteration to the details of travel requested by the client after confirmation has been given.

The Organisers reserve the right to refuse access to , or remove person or persons from the train who are considered to be be using inappropriate behavior that may spoil the enjoyment of other person or persons on the train.
