We would advise you to book without delay as the places will be on a
'first come first served' basis
IMPORTANT INFORMATION
- A £50 non-refundable deposit is required at the time of booking; the remaining balance is payable one month before the footplate day.
- Drivers will be required to bring their own overalls (overalls must be 100% cotton) It is advisable to wear steel toe capped footware – the Trust will supply gloves.
- There will be 6 people on experiences per day, with 2 people on the footplate at once - one person will drive a full round trip (7 miles) whilst the other will observe and assist with firing. Each individual will get a minimum of two full round trips driving & two full round trips firing.
- The maximum line speed is 25 mph, but 6233 is officially restricted to 15 mph, and there are some 10 mph speed restrictions on the line.
- Guided tours of all of the Midland Railway’s facilities and the West Shed will be provided for drivers and guests. A charge will be made for guests to cover the cost of the meals that will be provided. This will include a light breakfast, hot dinner and afternoon tea & biscuits. The charge is expected to be £10 per guest - to be confirmed nearer the time.
