On 15th December 2010 the boiler is seen being lifted from the frames of 6233 Duchess of Sutherland.
There is still evidence of snow in the foreground which had delayed the lift by a week.

After being removed from the frames, the tender
tank is in the air waiting for a low loader to reverse
underneath it. The tank is to have a new base and
splashers fabricated and fitted at Hill & Webster

Friday 1st July saw the frames of 6233 moved
back between the jacks on road 3 in the
workshop at the West Shed. Here we see
them being slowly shunted on road 2, under the
watchful eye of Trust engineer Simon Scott

Monday 26th September - the boiler
underwent a hydraulic test at Crewe.
The pressure gauge reads 330psi
indicating that the boiler has passed this
test and is ready for a steam test in the
very near future.

Looking like a Princess Coronation Class Locomotive again! 46233 is pictured on the morning of the 31st October 2011, the cladding has been completed and her nameplates refitted. It is going to appear that the overhaul has slowed down soon as the work that is to be done is likely hidden inside the loco. Be assured that the pace of the overhaul will continue to be un-relenting!

The final examination required before 46233 was awarded her mainline accreditation was a 'loaded test run'. This was carried out by the running of 'The Night Owl' tour on 29th March 2012.
